Joint Meeting with International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) & Georgia Chapter ACI

  

Speaker: Lawrence F. Kahn, Ph.D., P.E.

Program: ACI 562 Code Requirements for Assessment, Repair and Rehabilitation of Concrete Structures. 

Dr. Lawrence Kahn is Professor Emeritus in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia. He joined Georgia Tech in 1976 and retired in 2015; yet he continues teaching as well as conducting research plus consulting. His experimental research dealt with high-strength concrete prestressed bridges, earthquake resistance of reinforced concrete and masonry buildings, and structural repair and rehabilitation. 

Larry served as chair of ACI Committee 562 which authors the Code Requirements for Assessment, Repair and Rehabilitation of Concrete Structures.  He is the current chair of ACI Technical Activities Committee, and he is active in the Prestressed Concrete Institute and The Masonry Society. Before coming to Georgia Tech, he was a structural engineer at the U. S. Naval Civil Engineering Laboratory and at Bechtel Corporation.  His academic degrees are from Stanford, University of Illinois, and University of Michigan. 

The Georgia Chapter ACI hosts monthly luncheon meetings throughout the year. Luncheons are an opportunity to network with your peers, earn Professional Development Hours and further your industry knowledge.
